What is your position, and in summary, what do you do?

As Senior Manager of Linde Material Handling Financial Services, my role is to create a Financial Services division to support the North American dealer financing needs. Therefore, my responsibilities include establishing a financial services department for North America to increase overall dealer sales with the support of additional equipment financing options and programs.

What made you get into this industry?

I started my career in the automotive industry and then moved to material handling. I have always worked for a captive finance company, so I was excited for the opportunity to be able to start up and bring that captive finance approach to Linde. I was told that once you enter the material handling industry, you will never leave. So, it sounds like I will be around for a while.

What are the most important attributes of successful leaders today?

L – Learn continuously

E – Effectiveness of a solution

A – Adaptive

D – Drive and Diversity

E – Eyes on the horizon

R – Receptiveness to feedback

What advice would you give someone seeking a leadership position in your line of work?

Leadership is sometimes doing what you need to, whether you feel like it or not. Successful leaders have the confidence and courage to take the assignment that no one else wants. Then, take work-life one step at a time and save some energy every day to improve for tomorrow.
