Meet Jeremy Houchins, recent Employee of the Quarter Winner, a dedicated and outstanding team member whose commitment and contributions have set him apart. As we delve into this interview, you’ll gain insight into his journey, accomplishments, and secrets to his success.
First, how long have you been at KION NA?
I started January 2022 as a contract to hire and was fully hired in January 2023.
In the length of time you have been at KION NA, what accomplishment makes you most proud?
I am most proud of being able to take on both Customer Quality and Quality Systems simultaneously and successfully made both processes my own. I feel being able to maintain both roles have made me more effective as a QE.
What do you think makes an employee stand out in an organization?
An employee stands out by simply being a good person. They don’t hesitate to help someone when they need something. They don’t have the “that’s not my job” mentality.
What motivates you?
My family motivates me the most, especially my daughter Skylar.
What is it about the culture at KION NA that makes you excel in your position?
The culture at KION NA is one of the best that I’ve been a part of. I am able to succeed in my role simply because this is a low-stress environment with extremely supportive individuals throughout the organization. I have yet to experience any friction or bumps in the road with any co-workers which makes it easy to get things accomplished.
What do you think it takes to be an exceptional teammate?
The best way is to be there for others, if you notice teammates are stressed or struggling and you can help then you should not hesitate to do so.
Which KION Group shared value resonates most with you? Integrity, Courage, Collaboration, or Excellence?
I said in my initial job interview for KNA that I’m a people person, I love the professional and personal relationships I’ve gained while working here. Collaboration and maintaining great cross functional relationships will get you a long way.
Looking to the future, what are you most excited about?
I just look forward to continuing to grow within the organization. I can honestly say that I love it here and can’t see myself anywhere else.
